In the Nursing Home
She is like a horse grazing
a hill pasture that someone makes
smaller by coming every night
to pull the fences in and in.
She has stopped running wide loops,
stopped even the tight circles.
She drops her head to feed; grass
is dust, and the creekbed’s dry.
Master, come with your light
halter. Come and bring her in.

Hi, I enjoyed the poem. I am approaching that period of my life when all the things that rule my life are very different from 2o years ago. I also have to deal with end of life feelings in my clients. We have been liquidating estates here in New England for 20 years and the families sometimes look to us for words of wisdom. Check out our website: http://www.RhodeIslandEstateSales.com Thanks for the thoughts. TOM
